Gas Tax Bill Stalls

My bill to adjust the motor fuel user fee came up for debate in sub-committee this week. After hearing from several supporters including myself, the committee adjourned debate without comment. They can recall the bill at a future date, though this is unlikely.

Since that time, an Upstate Senator has introduced a bill to float $200 million in bonds to fix our roads. A Lowcountry Senator has stated that I-85 should not be expanded until I-526 has been extended.

Now witness the downward spiral into debt-fueled regional bickering as our infrastructure continues to crumble. It seems that the General Assembly would rather maintain the status quo than our roads.
