The SC House met this week to adopt rules, elect officers and appoint members to committees. Bobby Harrell and Jay Lucas were re-elected as Speaker and Speaker Pro-Tempore respectively. Bruce Bannister was elected as the new House GOP Caucus leader.
The House voted to expand the House Ethics committee from 6 members to 10 members evenly divided between Republicans and Democrats. This was an important first step to achieving bi-partisan support for broad reform of the ethics process.
